What is RoHS? (Directive 2011/65/EU)
RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) is a European Union directive that restricts the use of ten hazardous substances in the manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment.

Main objective: To protect human health and the environment by completely eliminating or strictly limiting hazardous chemicals in consumer and industrial equipment. The directive strictly regulates the content of substances such as lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, and certain phthalate plasticizers. Any electronic equipment legally sold within the EU (including Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia) must strictly comply with RoHS standards.

What is WEEE? (Directive 2012/19/EU)
WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) is a European Union directive on the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment. It is indicated on the packaging by a symbol of a crossed-out trash can.

Main objective: To regulate the collection, reuse, recycling, and disposal of all types of electronic waste. The WEEE Directive places the responsibility for the environmentally sound disposal and financing of the collection of end-of-life equipment directly on manufacturers and authorized distributors. Products bearing this symbol cannot be disposed of with regular household waste but must be recycled through specialized European collection points.
